How Online Learning Works

Learning online doesn't mean being on your own. At Strayer University, we've spent thousands of hours perfecting the way we teach our online classes to best support our students. You'll have access to all the resources of a Strayer campus, as well as two options for how you can customize your online education experience:

ONLINE IN REAL-TIME:
These online classes occur at set times on evenings and weekends. You'll hear live audio from your professor, engage with a "virtual blackboard," and have the ability to interact with your classmates and your professor via live text messaging.

ONLINE ANYTIME:
These online classes occur completely on your schedule — anywhere you can get online. Your living room. Your kitchen table. 24 hours a day. Seven days a week. You'll have access to recorded lectures, video presentations, instructional materials, and the ability to chat with your fellow students.

iCampus is our proprietary learning portal — your home base for all your online learning needs. It's how you register for courses, attend class, complete and submit assignments, and even connect socially with your fellow students.
We're constantly expanding and improving on the features of iCampus based, in large part, on feedback we get from our students. At Strayer, you get a voice in everything connected to your education — including how it's delivered.

“In addition to offering a rigorous and challenging degree program, Strayer University offered the kind of support I needed to earn my degree while working and caring for my son. The University’s staff and faculty were supportive and understanding, and took care of the administrative tasks so I could focus on my education.”
