The Honors Program

The Honors Program at Strayer University recognizes undergraduate students' superb academic achievement and provides the opportunity for an enriched academic experience both inside and outside of the classroom.
Honors Courses
Eligible undergraduate students have the opportunity to enroll in select online honors courses. These online courses are taught by our premier faculty and open only to honors students. There are fewer students in each honors section, providing more opportunity for engagement with your professor and classmates. Faculty have the opportunity to fine-tune the course, but may not add more work. Honors courses provide eligible students with an engaging environment that covers the same course content, but with a greater emphasis on real-world application.
Honors Connect
Honors Connect events are opportunities outside of the classroom, virtual and on-ground, aimed to enhance honors students' overall experience at Strayer. They may be professional development, networking, social, or leadership opportunities.
Honors Community
Honors students are invited to engage with other honors students in an exclusive online Honors Community. Students are encouraged to socialize, share success stories, resources, opportunities, ask questions, network, create study groups, plan meet ups, and more!
To be eligible for the Honors Program, students must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and must have completed a minimum of 13.5 college-level quarter credits. Developmental courses do not count toward this credit requirement.

Transfer students who meet these eligibility requirements are eligible for the Honors Program after successfully completing one quarter at Strayer and maintaining a 3.5 GPA. Please note that GPAs do not "transfer" to Strayer; therefore, you must establish a minimum 3.5 GPA at Strayer.

“I strongly believe in the value of education and life-long learning and I thrive in environments where I am continuously challenged. My Strayer University master’s degree program moved me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to develop competitive skills that I apply to my job every day. Not only did I learn advanced business strategies and theories, I also became a better business leader.”

How Online Learning Works

Learning online doesn't mean being on your own. At Strayer University, we've spent thousands of hours perfecting the way we teach our online classes to best support our students. You'll have access to all the resources of a Strayer campus, as well as two options for how you can customize your online education experience:

ONLINE IN REAL-TIME:
These online classes occur at set times on evenings and weekends. You'll hear live audio from your professor, engage with a "virtual blackboard," and have the ability to interact with your classmates and your professor via live text messaging.

ONLINE ANYTIME:
These online classes occur completely on your schedule — anywhere you can get online. Your living room. Your kitchen table. 24 hours a day. Seven days a week. You'll have access to recorded lectures, video presentations, instructional materials, and the ability to chat with your fellow students.

iCampus is our proprietary learning portal — your home base for all your online learning needs. It's how you register for courses, attend class, complete and submit assignments, and even connect socially with your fellow students.
We're constantly expanding and improving on the features of iCampus based, in large part, on feedback we get from our students. At Strayer, you get a voice in everything connected to your education — including how it's delivered.

“In addition to offering a rigorous and challenging degree program, Strayer University offered the kind of support I needed to earn my degree while working and caring for my son. The University’s staff and faculty were supportive and understanding, and took care of the administrative tasks so I could focus on my education.”
