The Honors Program at Strayer University recognizes
undergraduate students' superb academic achievement and provides the
opportunity for an enriched academic experience both inside and outside of the
classroom.
Honors Courses
Eligible undergraduate students have the opportunity to
enroll in select online honors courses. These online courses are taught by our
premier faculty and open only to honors students. There are fewer students in
each honors section, providing more opportunity for engagement with your
professor and classmates. Faculty have the opportunity to fine-tune the course,
but may not add more work. Honors courses provide eligible students with an
engaging environment that covers the same course content, but with a greater emphasis
on real-world application.
Honors Connect
Honors Connect events are opportunities outside of the
classroom, virtual and on-ground, aimed to enhance honors students' overall
experience at Strayer. They may be professional development, networking, social,
or leadership opportunities.
Honors Community
Honors students are invited to engage with other honors
students in an exclusive online Honors Community. Students are encouraged to
socialize, share success stories, resources, opportunities, ask questions,
network, create study groups, plan meet ups, and more!
To be eligible for the Honors Program, students must have a
minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and must have completed a minimum of 13.5
college-level quarter credits. Developmental courses do not count toward this
credit requirement.
Transfer students who meet these eligibility requirements
are eligible for the Honors Program after successfully completing one quarter
at Strayer and maintaining a 3.5 GPA. Please note that GPAs do not
"transfer" to Strayer; therefore, you must establish a minimum 3.5
GPA at Strayer.
